When you're starting out polishing a car, test the paint with a MEDIUM pad and a MEDIUM polish. Don't want to start with anything extreme on either end. No soft finishing pads. No coarse cutting pads. Go for something in between. Same with the product you use. If your results did not satisfy and you need to try another combination, remember to move to a FRESH section of paint, otherwise your results will be skewed by your original test spot. 🔥 😨 Worried about BURNING paint while polishing? The fact is... if you're using a DA free-spinning random orbital polisher, you almost NEVER have to worry about burning the paint.
